All Dropracks products come standard with connecting rods that separate the mounting position by 85.0 cm (33.46 inches).

We are happy to advise you and prepare suitable lengths for your car, do not hesitate to call or write.

Our longest set is made for a fixed mounting point distance of 144.5 cm, which is equal to the distance between the first and third row of Volkswagen Transporter T5 and T6, T7 cars.

How to cut and machine the bars to fit a shorter distance
Step 1
Measure
Place the clamps on the roof and measure from the top of the clamps, centre to centre, to determine the distance, “X”

Step 2
Calculate the “cut-off value”:
Cut-off = kit length – X

Step 3
Cut off the large lengths:
The extensive pieces will be the same length.
The bars you keep will still have the same mutual lengths, as seen in the picture below:

In the photo above, the 144.5 cm kit is cut to fit 122.0 cm.
The cut length is 22.5 cm in this example.

Step 4
Drill new holes:
Drill new holes at the cut-off ends.

The following video uses a Fix Point connecting rod kit for the VW Transporter (144.5 cm). This fits the Dropracks into the first and third row installation positions.
